Humber Community YMCA receive $10,000

Posted 02/23/2015 by Kelly Reid

VOCM Cares donates $10,000 to Humber Community YMCA (YMCA Alternative Suspension Program)

A $10,000 donation was made to the Humber Community YMCA (YMCA Alternative Suspension Program) today from VOCM Cares.

The Alternative Suspension program collaborates with schools to work with youth ages 12-17 who are temporarily suspended, or at risk of being suspended, from school. The program provides students with tools that enable them to transform their time away from school into a positive experience. Using a variety of interventions, Alternative Suspension provides highly personalized support and is proactive in helping resolve problems that might otherwise lead students to drop out of school, while keeping the primary focus on educational progress.
