The VOCM Cares Evergreen Recycling Program

The VOCM Cares Evergreen Recycling Program

Newfoundlanders generate about 2kg of waste per person every day. This province is home to approximately 510,00 residents, each of whom creates over a million combined kilograms of garbage each day.
Thankfully, this past year the MMSB reported that Newfoundlanders recycled more then 149 million beverage containers in schools, homes and businesses.  But almost 200,000 still make it to our landfills each day.
Now is the time to ask yourself:
"Am I contributing to the problem or the soluntion?"
Not satisfied with your answer?  Let's work together to change it.
The VOCM Cares Evergreen Recycling program is simple!
Once your a member of the program you will be given a recycling card that is programmed to deposit into the VOCM Cares Account at any one of the 4 convenient Evergreen Recycling locations.
When returning your recyclables you will be directed to the "Recycling Card Area", where there is no wait time.  You will swipe your card and print bar caded stickers and place them on the bags containing your items.
Your bar coded bags are then stored for counting and VOCM Cares will receive an email verifying the completion and the amount deposited.  This process reduces and practically eliminates your waiting time.
The Employee counts are always verified by the Evergreen Computerized Management Information System, so you can be assured of the accuracy of the counts.
The VOCM Cares Foundation can then go online an view your donation information as well as provide you with a monthly breakdown of your charitable contribution and environmental impact reduction progress.
